Experience old style camping with our private camping safaris. Your camp consists of spacious twin bedded, insect proof, walk-in tents with sewn in ground sheets. Each tent has it's own shower and toilet attached. Sumptuous meals including imported wines are served in the large comfortable dining tent.
The entire camp is transported from place to place in specially equipped trucks fitted with extra fuel and water capacity. Guests and Guides will travel in custom built four wheel drive safari vehicles. Seating in our vehicles is limited to six guests, unless otherwise requested. They are equipped with a host of reference books for identifying mammals, birds and trees. Satellite phone contact is available in cases of emergencies.
We recommend spending two or three days at each location to truly experience the habitat of that area. For example: it may be that the sausage tree (kigelia africana) are in flower and the falling blossoms which are popular with some antelope species, may in turn attract leopards which may be overlooked at first glance.
As owner operators, all itineraries are strictly tailor-made to suit your needs, requirements and expectations. No request is too small or large for us to assist. All camping safaris are strictly private and general bookings are not added to your personal camp.
Kitso Safaris did a phenomenal job hosting the Wildlife Film Academy, pampering us with their splendid hospitality, great accommodation and fabulous food which contributed to us having some of the most memorable safari trips the academy has ever seen. They are one of the most professional safari companies that I have come across in my time working in the wildlife industry. – Chris (Natural History Unit)
My wife and I just returned from an amazing safari tour offered by KITSO SAFARI TOURS, based in Maun. We had four people on a 10 day camping safari and the experience was top shelf. Personal attention and the competence and experience of the operator, Colin Dandridge, made it an unforgettable experience. We had three campsites, in Savuti, Khwai, and Moremi. Excellent tours, meals, service, and various fine touches. The kind of offering that may not be around 10 years from now (regrettably). Highest recommendation. – Bill (San Francisco)
For running our base camps in Ghanzi and Maun, and for providing their expertise and knowledge while on safari in CKGR and Moremi, thanks to Colin, Daryl, Zebra, Godwin, Stephen, and the rest of the Kitso staff. – UT Study Abroad Botswana 2015
